45 Places to Shop for Affordable Home Decor

There is nothing quite like the rush of finding a great piece of decor at a great price. I love looking for deals on furniture and accessories, so much so that it’s actually one of my favorite parts of decorating. I enjoy the challenge. While it’s fun to splurge every now and then on something special, saving money on as much as possible lets me indulge in those splurges guilt-free. Besides, why spend lots of money where you don’t have to? Style doesn’t have to come at a high price tag.

One of the most popular questions I receive is, “Where do you shop for affordable home decor?” Over the years, I’ve formed a list of my favorite places. For starters, I have a lot of fun digging through the treasures at local thrift stores and garage sales that I can makeover into something new. Older craftsmanship is generally better than a lot of today’s, it has character, and you can put your own creative spin on it. You can also score some great deals on Craigslist and some really cool, handmade items on Etsy (which is included in the list).

I probably do most of my shopping online and at retail stores, though. Sometimes, it will take me a little while to find exactly what I am looking for if it’s something very particular. However, there are so many fantastic shops out there now offering an abundance of stylish, affordable home decor that I rarely struggle to find the perfect thing at the right price. The internet has completely changed the game.

If you’re looking to update your home without spending a fortune, I’ve put together a list of 45 places you can shop for affordable home decor. With the exception of HomeGoods, you can shop all of these stores online. I haven’t been asked to endorse any of these companies, nor am I getting paid to promote them, receiving free products from them or using affiliate links in this post. I’ve bought things from most of them either online or in their brick and mortar stores. There are only a few I haven’t personally shopped at yet, but they’ve been recommended to me by friends, other decorators and clients. Also, they’re in alphabetical order, not by preference.
